spring.
0.9 s tail.
Twangy and bright with the characteristic spring “boing” on transients.
character.
Spring is the smallest of the mechanical reverbs. Decay is short (~0.9 s), the tail is unmistakably twangy, and sharp transients trigger the characteristic spring 'boing' that defines guitar amp reverbs from the 60s onward.
Use it on guitars, vintage drum kits, and anything that benefits from a bit of grit. The Brain modulates the response so percussive material gets more of the boing than sustained notes.
Pairs with: Plate when the source wants more cleanliness; Drum Room for tight rhythmic ambience.

Long stone tail, slow attack, the Brain is loud — every transient becomes a swell.

Concert hall — warm, defined, decay around 2 to 3 seconds. Default for orchestra.
— Naturalschamber
Small wood-and-plaster chamber. The size that disappears into a pop arrangement.
— Platesplate
Bright, dense, modulated. Sounds like an EMT 140 that has been kept clean.
